INTA Congress “Exit, Voice, Loyalty/Metropolises: development strategies and alliances”, 6-10 November 2011, Lyon & Grenoble, France

Invited by two French regional metropolises, Grand Lyon and Grenoble Alpes Metropole, INTA35 will question the development strategies of these intermediate territories. Often their plans are not adequate to face the challenges of the global economy; regional metropolises are in need of innovative instruments and policies to make their development process more effective. As part of the INTA on-going debates on change and transformation of the urban development process, our 35th Congress is a unique occasion to confront the worldwide experiences and practices of regional metropolises in delivering a higher level of welfare for their inhabitants, to better understand the dynamics at work, to reduce the uncertainty to change, and to respond pragmatically to questions vis-à-vis the future.
